Konrad Sprenger

Konrad Sprenger (born Joerg Hiller, 1977, Lahr) is a Berlin-based composer and artist working with a custom computer-controlled multi-channel electric guitar whose strings function as frequency generators. Capable of Euclidean rhythmic patterns, microtonal tuning, and continuous performance, the instrument produces sounds simultaneously evoking guitar, harpsichord, drum machine, and orchestra. His influences span Minimalism, Krautrock, and Techno; his work pursues transcendence through propulsive full-spectrum sound. He has collaborated with Arnold Dreyblatt and Ellen Fullman since 2000, runs Choose Records, and has released on Pan. He has performed at MoMA PS1, Berghain, and Sonar.
