Kökht Aräkh
Ukrainian black metal project founded in 2018 by Dmitry Marchenko in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, now operating from Berlin. The debut release Through the Branches to Eternity introduced a signature that places raw, aggressive songwriting alongside quiet, intimate ballads. Subsequent albums Night and Love and Pale Swordsman (2021) deepened this contrast, drawing on second-wave black metal, neo-folk, and hip-hop. Morning Star, issued on Sacred Bones Records, brought broader critical attention, with reviewers noting its immersive, melancholic quality and emotional candour.
