Kode9
Kode9 (born Steve Goodman, Scotland) is a British musician, DJ, and theorist based in London. He founded Hyperdub in 2004, which became one of the most influential UK electronic music labels — releasing work by Burial, Laurel Halo, Dean Blunt, Jessy Lanza, and many others. His own music — made with the late vocalist The Spaceape — spans dubstep, grime, and experimental club music, documented on albums including Black Sun (2012). He is also the author of Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear (MIT Press, 2010), a foundational text in sound studies.
