Klaus Schulze
Klaus Schulze (1947–2022) was a German electronic music pioneer and one of the defining figures of kosmische Musik and the Berlin School. He drummed in early Tangerine Dream and co-founded Ash Ra Tempel with Manuel Göttsching and Hartmut Enke in 1971. From 1972 he released over fifty solo albums, with key works including Irrlicht (1972), Timewind (1975), Moondawn (1976), and Dune (1979) — sequencer-driven soundscapes of extended duration that anticipated ambient, new age, techno, and trance music. His final album Deus Arrakis was released in July 2022.
