Klaus Fillip
Vienna-based musician, programmer, and sound artist, he is among the first performers to have brought the laptop onto the concert stage, doing so in the Austrian capital around 1993. His practice centres on sine waves—their emergence at the threshold of perception and their interaction with acoustic instruments. He holds a teaching position at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and created ppooll, a freeware modular software environment for real-time processing that continues to be used by improvising musicians around the world. He has collaborated with performers across Europe and releases on Mikroton and Potlatch.
