kid606 (Miguel Depedro, born 1979) is a Venezuelan-American electronic musician and producer based in Los Angeles. A central figure in breakcore and laptop noise in the late 1990s and early 2000s, he released prolifically on Tigerbeat6, Sublight, and Mille Plateaux — combining distorted hip-hop samples, hardcore breakbeats, and irreverent energy into work that was simultaneously technically extreme and absurdist. The Action Packed Mentalist Brings You the Fucking Jams (1999) and Who Still Kill Sound? (2000) are landmarks of the American breakcore scene. He has continued releasing under various aliases.
