Kensho Nakamura

Kensho Nakamura is a Japanese musician and producer who began in hip-hop before moving toward experimental territory. His practice spans sound collage, glitch, and acoustic instrument manipulation, resulting in fragmented musical dioramas that resist easy categorisation. He released Llamhigyn Y Dwr on the Italian label Pampsychia in 2021, building soft, imagery-rich textures inspired by the Welsh mythological creature. Working in construction, Nakamura developed a fascination with rust and industrial decay, which fed into Electric Rust on the mappa label in 2022, a conceptual electronic work exploring time, accumulation, and the quiet transformation of materials.
