Keiji Haino
Keiji Haino (b. 1952, Chiba) is a Japanese musician and vocalist whose output spans rock, free improvisation, noise music, drone, psychedelic music, and minimalism across more than four decades. Inspired initially by Antonin Artaud and redirected toward music by an encounter with The Doors, Haino formed the rock band Fushitsusha in 1978, a group known for its extreme intensity and duration of performance. After a period of retreat from 1983 to 1987, he returned to active performance and has continued working at an extraordinary level of prolificacy ever since.
