Kazuhiro Jo

Born in 1977 in Fukushima Prefecture, he studied acoustic design and interaction design at Kyushu Institute of Design and the University of Tokyo, and is now an associate professor at the Faculty of Design, Kyushu University. He is a co-founder and participant of The Sine Wave Orchestra, a participatory sound performance project that creates collective sound representations from sine tones. His other projects include phono/graph, which explores relationships between sound, text, and graphics, and he co-organized dorkbot Tokyo. He has been supported by grants from Prix Ars Electronica and the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists.
