Katarzyna Krakowiak
Born in 1980, she is a Polish artist who holds a PhD from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań and a post-doctorate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Her sculptures, performances, and large-scale sound installations investigate the acoustic dimensions of architectural space, generating environments in which listeners become part of the work. In 2012 she received a special award for her Polish Pavilion contribution at the 13th Venice Biennale of Architecture, and in 2020 she created a work for the Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Pavilion. She has held a residency as sound artist at St John's College, Oxford.
