Katalin Ladik

Katalin Ladik (b. 1942, Novi Sad) is a Yugoslav-Hungarian poet, performance artist, and musician who developed a radical sound poetry practice from the late 1960s. Her vocal performances — extended vocal technique, phonetic fragmentation, and physical presence — place her among the most significant European sound poets. She worked in the context of Yugoslav Fluxus and conceptual art and has been presented internationally in contexts ranging from sound poetry festivals to major art institutions. Her work has received renewed international attention through retrospective exhibitions and recent documentation projects.
