Karl Klomp
Born in 1979 and based in the Netherlands, he is an artist and researcher who studied Interactive Media and Environments at the Frank Mohr Institute in Groningen. Working at the intersection of video circuit-bending, hardware hacking, and glitch art, he builds hand-modified video samplers, sync generators, and descramblers whose visual output responds dynamically to audio feeds. He has exhibited at Transmediale and Sonic Acts, and has built custom video hardware for touring musicians including Portishead and Motorpsycho. His work treats electronic failure and signal instability as generative aesthetic material rather than problems to be corrected.
