Kamilya Jubran

Born in 1962 in Rameh, she is a Palestinian vocalist, oud and qanun player whose career began with the political folk group Sabreen, which she joined in 1982 and with whom she recorded four albums over two decades. In 2002 she moved to Europe and established a solo practice, performing original compositions alongside classical Arabic repertoire across the Middle East and Europe. She has collaborated with Swiss composer Werner Hassler on electronic music and with French bassist Sarah Murcia. In 2014 she founded the nonprofit Zamkana to support independent artistic projects. She was a 2025 Aga Khan Music Awards finalist.
