Justin Bennett

British artist born in 1964, based in The Hague, trained in sculpture and electronic music, whose practice uses field recording, drawing, video, and sound to map the sensory experience of urban environments. He teaches at the Institute of Sonology of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. His research projects juxtapose audiovisual material with voice-overs and diagrams, tracing space, movement, magnetic fields, and sound through language. He co-developed Soundtrackcity, a platform investigating the influence of city sound through sound walks, a mobile app, and collaboration with residents, artists, urban planners, and scientists.
