Julie Rousse
Born in 1979 in Paris and based in Marseille, this sound artist, improviser, and electroacoustic composer works across live performance, sound installation, and scores for film and dance. She employs experimental sensors including hydrophones, coil sensors, electromagnetic antennas, and piezoelectric sensors to capture normally inaudible phenomena. Her major multichannel installation Métamorphoses gives voice to the sonic biodiversity of the Rhône ecosystem through hydrophony and electromagnetic recordings. Her album Une Voix parcourt le Rhône was released in January 2019, and she has performed at festivals from Afghanistan to Chile.
