Julian Oliver

Julian Oliver is a New Zealand-born critical engineer and artist based in Berlin, active internationally since 1996. His practice spans network art, software art, creative hacking, data forensics, counter-surveillance, and information visualisation, consistently interrogating the politics of technological infrastructure through direct intervention. He manipulates routers, captures data from open wireless networks, augments commercial billboards, sonifies social media streams, and otherwise uses networks as artistic material.
