Julián Bonequi

Mexican hybrid artist and composer born in 1974 who began as a percussionist and improviser before developing an expanded practice encompassing extended reality, 3D sound, interactive scores, and coded automatons. He has studied philosophy and video game design, and collaborated with neuroscience research groups, as well as performing with orchestras and ensembles in Madrid, London, Berlin, and Mexico City. In 2015 his music was launched into space. He won the Konzerthaus Berlin Interactive Composition competition as a VR artist in 2019 and received support from Mexico's National System of Art Creators (FONCA) from 2017 to 2020.
