Joshua Weitzel
Joshua Weitzel (born 1989, Kassel) is a German musician, curator, and researcher. Working with guitar, shamisen, and extended techniques, he spans improvisation, electroacoustic composition, installation, and field recording. He completed a PhD at the University of Edinburgh on sound art at documenta (1955–1992) and is an artistic associate at Hochschule für Musik Mainz. He runs the Chamäleon Konzerte series in Kassel — recipient of the city's Kulturförderpreis (2020) — and has released on gruenrekorder, 577 Records, and Off. Collaborators include Eddie Prévost, Massimo Magee, and Ken Ikeda.
