Jorge Antunes

Jorge Antunes (b. 1942, Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian composer and one of Latin America's most important figures in electroacoustic and experimental music. He studied in Paris and worked at the GRM. His pioneering work in developing computer and electronic music infrastructure in Brazil, and his role in founding the country's first electronic music studio at the University of Brasília, make him an essential figure in the history of Brazilian avant-garde music. He has composed important orchestral and chamber music and has taught generations of Brazilian experimental composers.
