Jonas Lund Token

Launched in 2018 by Swedish conceptual artist Jonas Lund, the Jonas Lund Token (JLT) is an artwork in which the artist created 100,000 shares in his own artistic practice, each represented by an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain. Token holders become members of his board of trustees, with one token equalling one vote on strategic decisions concerning his career. By relinquishing majority control, the work deliberately subverts the traditional power structures governing the contemporary art world, turning speculation and corporate governance into artistic material and distributing artistic autonomy outward.
