Jonáš Gruska

Born in Czechoslovakia, this Bratislava-based sound artist and researcher studied at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague and at the Academy of Music in Krakow. His practice centres on chaotic and polymetric rhythms, unconventional tunings, psychoacoustics, and field recording, including site-specific installations built around the resonant properties of materials and spaces. In 2011 he co-founded LOM, a label and instrument company dedicated to Central and Eastern European experimental art and music. In 2018 he opened LOM space in Bratislava as a venue for contemporary music and sound art.
