John Wiese

John Wiese is an American noise artist and musician based in Los Angeles whose extensive discography spans solo recordings, collaborative projects, and releases on his own Helicopter label. Working with electronics, computer processing, and acoustic instruments, he creates recordings of extraordinary textural density and dynamic range. He has collaborated with Wolf Eyes, Prurient, C. Spencer Yeh, and many others. His work is characterized by an intelligent engagement with the aesthetics of noise as form, treating extreme sound as material for genuine compositional investigation.
