Jocelyn Robert

Born in Quebec City in 1959, he studied pharmacy, then architecture, graduating from Laval University's School of Architecture in 1984. His work in audio art, video, sound installation, and performance explores memory, transference, and space-time, with sound recordings spread across more than thirty releases. In 1993 he co-founded the collective Avatar in Quebec City, which became a flagship institution for sound and electronic art in the province, serving as its artistic director from 2004 to 2009. He has been a professor at Laval University's School of Art since 2008 and in 2023 received the insignia of the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec.
