Joanne Robertson
Joanne Robertson is a British painter, singer-songwriter and poet who relocated from London to Glasgow in 2018. Her hushed, guitar-based songwriting and expressive painting practice both grow from improvisation, favouring first takes and unpolished gesture over refinement. She is widely known for her long-running collaboration with avant-garde musician Dean Blunt, her partner, appearing across albums including The Redeemer and Black Metal, and for her acclaimed 2025 solo record Blurrr, featured on numerous year-end lists. She has also worked with Mica Levi and Oliver Coates, and in 2018 published the poetry collection 1971 (A Year in Record Reviews Poems) with Byron Coley.
