Jena Jang
Born Yeaeun Jang in South Korea, she is an experimental musician, DIY instrument builder, and multidisciplinary artist based between Prague and Seoul. She moved to Prague in 2016 and later completed a master's programme at UMPRUM, where an experimental music course reshaped her practice. Her work draws on Buddhist chanting, throat singing, yogic breathwork, and Korean forms including Pansori and Shamanic ritual. In 2019 she formed the shamanic trio GÜLD as the first project of her ongoing doctoral research Contemporary Art of Healing, and in 2020 launched her solo project Purplears. She has since toured extensively across Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa.
