Jeff Hassay

Born in 1975 in Fountain Valley, California, and based in Los Angeles, he is a musician, author, and publisher who works under the imprint Stagger Fancy Press. As one half of the duo ACID with Imaad Wasif, he records and performs using rewired keyboards, detuned guitars, and home-made instruments. His solo release Beach Boys House: Dirt Sounds (2017) is an eighteen-minute field recording made at the Hawthorne, California house where Brian Wilson grew up, pressed onto a hand-made record containing soil from the site, issued fifty years after Pet Sounds. ACID's trilogy Romance, Science Fiction with Acid, and Persona appeared on Narnack Records in 2014.
