James Ruskin
Born in 1972 in Croydon, he co-founded Blueprint Records in 1996 alongside Richard Polson, establishing one of UK techno's most uncompromising labels. His musical formation began in mid-1980s electro and hip-hop, and he was among the first British producers to absorb Detroit techno into a distinctly minimal, industrial framework. Working early on as one half of Outline with Polson, his debut album Further Design appeared on Blueprint in 1998. Following Polson's death in 2006 the label relaunched in 2009 and has continued to release work by Oliver Ho, Karl O'Connor, and Surgeon alongside his own productions.
