James Hoff
James Hoff is an American artist and musician based in New York whose work addresses the intersection of computer viruses, network protocols, and cultural production. His Blaster series transformed computer viruses into musical compositions. He has released on PAN and co-founded Primary Information, an important publisher of artists' books. His practice interrogates how digital systems produce and transform culture. As a publisher he has made available important historical documents of conceptual and performance art. His dual practice as artist and publisher demonstrates unusual breadth.
