Iván Naranjo
Born in 1977 in Morelia, Michoacán, Iván Naranjo studied composition at the Las Rosas Conservatory before becoming a composer and improviser working with electroacoustic music, flexible structures, and room acoustics. Part of the electro-acoustic improvisation group Re5i5tol Sooo, his work explores self-similarity and the perceptual effects of assembling different musical materials in space. His compositions have been presented at the Hollywood Bowl, The Ford, and with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and he has an ongoing relationship with the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics at Stanford. His recordings are released on Mode Records.
