Inês Tartaruga Água

Inês Tartaruga Água, born in Válega in 1994, is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of deep ecology, biopolitics and sound. A self-described DIY practitioner and sound explorer, she favors collaborative, participatory work in public space over solitary authorship. She co-founded the ecological activist collective REFLUXO and the OV/ art gallery with Xavier Paes, with whom she also forms the experimental duo DIES LEXIC, and sings in the Porto-based project MOSCXS. Since 2019 she has been part of the international collective Mycelium. Her work has appeared at Serralves in Porto, Shelter Festival in Helsinki and the Aveiro Ceramics Biennial.
