Ikävä Pii

Ikävä Pii is a Finnish experimental group whose name translates approximately as "boring point" or "nostalgic point" in Finnish. Their work combines improvisation, electronic processing, and free music in a practice connected to the Finnish experimental underground. Releasing on Finnish labels and in DIY formats, they engage with the landscape of Finnish experimental and noise music that includes figures such as Olli Aarni and the broader Hiljaiset Levyt community. Their music is characterised by a dry, reductive approach to sound-making that reflects specifically Northern European sensibilities.
