Iggor Cavalera
Iggor Cavalera (b. 1970) is a Brazilian drummer and co-founder of Sepultura, the Belo Horizonte metal band whose recordings from the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s were foundational for thrash, death, and groove metal internationally. His drumming on albums including Beneath the Remains (1989), Arise (1991), and Chaos A.D. (1993) combined extreme speed and technical precision with influences from Brazilian percussion traditions. Following his departure from the band with his brother Max Cavalera in 1996, he has pursued projects including Cavalera Conspiracy, the electro-punk duo Mixhell with Laima Leyton, and a role as drummer in Soulwax since 2016.
