Hugo Esquinca
Born in Mexico City in 1990, Esquinca is a Berlin-based sound researcher whose practice centres on audio electronics at extreme amplification levels, investigating the spatio-temporal relationships produced when technology and sound interact in specific architectural spaces. Most of his works are site-specific compositions and installations designed to expose the resonant potential of a given room. He is a founding member of the Berlin collective Oqko and a PhD researcher at the Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Technology in Rotterdam under Yuk Hui. His work has been presented at EMPAC New York, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Berghain, Tresor, and at the Nikola Tesla Museum in Zagreb.
