Henrique Apolinário
Henrique Apolinário is a Portuguese transdisciplinary artist, born in 1994, working across music, performance and sound engineering. Based in Porto, he is part of Favela Discos, a collective founded in 2013 around experimental sound practice. His practice centers on capturing how sound behaves in architectural spaces — their reverberation, decay and reflection — then reworking those recordings digitally. His album Fusão (2023) exemplifies this: recorded live in a gym in 2019, it grew from days spent throwing sound at the walls, then distorting those reflections in drier, smaller rooms. The result folds harmonic masses with dissonant, digitally corrupted vocal shredding.
