Henrik Rylander
Born in Malmö in 1966, Rylander began his musical life as drummer and co-founder of the Gothenburg rock band Union Carbide Productions, whose final album was recorded with Steve Albini in Chicago in 1992. He co-founded the drone and noise project The Skull Defekts with Joachim Nordwall in 2005, the band playing its first show opening for Sunn O))) in Gothenburg. Alongside his band work, Rylander maintains an individual practice as a sound artist, composer, and photographer, exhibiting installation work at venues including Färgfabriken in Stockholm. He has received grants from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee and the Swedish Performing Rights Society STIM, and lives in Gothenburg.
