Helena Hauff

Helena Hauff is a German DJ and producer from Hamburg, where she studied fine art, physics and systematic music science before becoming resident at the Golden Pudel Club, hosting the night Birds and Other Instruments. Working exclusively on analogue machines she calls more inspiring than computers, she builds stripped-down, corrosive techno and electro shot through with acid, EBM and industrial influences. Her 2013 debut Actio Reactio EP led to releases on Werkdiscs, whose 2015 full-length Discreet Desires made Rolling Stone's electronic albums of the year. In 2017 she became first woman named BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix of the Year, and now releases through her own label Return to Disorder.
