Heimo Zobernig

Heimo Zobernig (b. 1958, Mauthen) is an Austrian artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, performance, video, and design. Working with radical reduction — grids, monochromes, found materials, and institutional forms — he interrogates the conventions of art production and display. His work has been exhibited internationally at major institutions including the Vienna Secession and MoMA. He represented Austria at the 2015 Venice Biennale. His practice maintains a sustained and sophisticated engagement with the conditions under which art is made, shown, and understood.
