Hecker

Hecker is the alias of Florian Hecker, an Austrian artist and musician born in 1975 in Augsburg. Working with computer-generated sound, psychoacoustics, and a rigorous engagement with the history of electronic and algorithmic composition, he has released on Editions Mego, Mego, and other labels, and developed an important exhibition practice across major museums and art institutions. Collaborations with Reza Negarestani on Chimerization (2011) and with Okkyung Lee on Inspection III (2020) exemplify his approach to voice and language as sonic material. His work engages with philosophy, perception, and the limits of acoustic experience.
