HC Gilje
HC Gilje (b. 1969, Kongsberg) is a Norwegian artist working across realtime video, sound, installation, and set design. A graduate of the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, he moved to Berlin in 1999 for the studio programme at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, becoming a key figure in the live cinema scene through the video-improvisation trio 242.pilots and as visual motor for dance company Kreutzerkompani. Since 2006 his project Conversations with Spaces has explored how light, projection and motion can transform architecture and landscape, developed with collaborators including Maja Ratkje and Tim Hecker. He also develops VPT, a widely used free video-projection-mapping tool.
