Haus Arafna

Haus Arafna is a German industrial music duo comprising Ulrike and Peter Hauber, active since the early 1990s. Working in the tradition of power electronics and dark ambient, they construct claustrophobic, obsessive soundscapes from distorted electronics, drum machines, and Ulrike Hauber's distinctive, tormented vocals. Releasing primarily on Galakthorrö Records, their work — including Children of God (1993) and Lullabies (1996) — occupies a space between industrial, gothic, and noise that has built them a devoted cult following in European underground music. Their practice is notable for its uncompromising emotional extremity and the central role of female vocal performance.
