Haswell & Hecker

Haswell & Hecker is the collaborative project of Russell Haswell and Florian Hecker, two British/German artists working in extreme noise, mathematics, and electronic sound. Their work deploys psychoacoustic phenomena, distortion, and phase relationships at the limits of audibility, often produced at extraordinary volumes. Joint releases on Editions Mego and live performances conducted at extreme amplitudes position them as among the most intellectually rigorous and physically confrontational practitioners in contemporary sound art. Hecker has additionally pursued a solo practice in spectrally complex and philosophically informed electroacoustic music.
