Hanatarash
Hanatarashi (ハナタラシ, meaning sniveler or snot-nosed in Japanese) was a noise band created by later Boredoms frontman Yamantaka Eye in Osaka in 1983. The other core member during the early years was later Zeni Geva drummer and Boredoms co-founder Ikuo Taketani. Hanatarash used a variety of unusual noise-making objects on stage — power tools, drills, and heavy machinery — creating performances of extreme and occasionally dangerous physical intensity.
A notorious 1985 performance at a venue in Osaka involved Eye operating a small bulldozer on stage, causing significant damage to the space and injuring an audience member.
