Haco

Haco is a Japanese vocalist, composer, and electronic musician based in Osaka. A founding member of the group After Dinner, with whom she released experimental pop records on ReR Megacorp in the 1980s and 1990s, she has maintained a sustained solo practice of electroacoustic composition and extended vocal technique. Her works explore the boundaries of language and sound through processing, multi-tracking, and a careful attention to the material of the voice. She has collaborated with Tetsu Inoue, John Zorn, and others, and releases on Tzadik and her own label. She also works extensively with the Otomo Yoshihide circle in Japan.
