G.X. Jupitter-Larsen

Born in Denver, Colorado in 1959 and relocating to Vancouver in the late 1970s, he founded The Haters on 1 May 1979 with an inaugural performance called Alluring at a small New York gallery, making it one of the earliest sustained projects in the modern noise scene. He is the group's sole permanent member, performing with masked collaborators drawn from local experimental circles. The work centres on themes of entropy and decay, using heavy machinery amplified into virtually unrecognisable sound. He has appeared on more than 300 releases, designed sound for Mark Pauline's Survival Research Laboratories in the 1990s, and released his first feature film A Noisy Delivery in 2013.
