Guillermo Lares
Architect and sound researcher based in Bogotá, he has developed installations and exhibitions exploring sound culture in relation to architectural space since 2012. Since 2015 he has focused on the vast archive of his father Oswaldo Lares, an ethnomusicologist who made field recordings of Venezuelan folk music from 1969 to 1990. Through his platform ArchivoLares, he curates and presents this material in collaborative and interdisciplinary artistic contexts. He has exhibited at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin and works across curatorial, performative, and research modes to make this historical Venezuelan sound culture available and resonant for contemporary audiences.
