Guely Morató

Curator, sound artist, and researcher based in La Paz, Bolivia, she founded and has directed SONANDES since 2014, a platform for artistic experimentation that runs an international sound art biennial, residencies, laboratories, and publications. Her research explores alternative methodologies for collective artistic creation at the intersection of politics, technology, and gender. Since 2020 she has led Wak'a: Neo-Extractivism, Sacredness and Deep Listening, a collaborative project linking Bolivian artists with international practitioners. In 2023 she received the Cultural and Artistic Responses to Environmental Change Award from the Prince Claus Foundation and the Goethe-Institut.
