Gudrun Gut
Gudrun Gut is a Berlin-based musician, DJ and producer who has shaped the city's experimental scene since the late 1970s. An early member of Einstürzende Neubauten, she co-founded Mania D. and then Malaria!, whose spare, dubby post-punk minimalism drew on funk and no wave alike. In 1997 she founded the label Monika Enterprise, releasing electronic and song-based work by artists including Barbara Morgenstern and Contriva. With Thomas Fehlmann she long co-hosted the radio show and club night Oceanclub. Her solo records, from I Put a Record On (2007) onward, favor spacious, rhythmic electronic pop, and she continues performing and producing across Berlin's independent scene.
