Gregor Hotz
Swiss reedist and cultural organiser working with soprano and bass saxophones and alto clarinet within the European free improvisation tradition. His 1999 FMP album 8 Pieces for Single Listeners pairs a solo recital with duets alongside cellist Nicholas Bussmann, and he later contributed to the Absinth release Berlin Reeds alongside Alessandro Bosetti, Kai Fagaschinski, and Rudi Mahall. A co-founder of the Berlin venue ausland and of the Splitter Orchester in 2010, he has directed numerous international projects in contemporary music and sound art, most recently becoming director of Ensemble Musikfabrik in Cologne in January 2026.
