Grand River

Grand River is the alias of Aimée Portioli, a Dutch-Italian composer and sound designer based in Berlin. She began her career as a sound engineer for Italy's Radio 24 and co-founded the post-production studio TapTempo before launching Grand River in 2014. Her debut album Pineapple (Spazio Disponibile, 2018) was followed by Blink a Few Times to Clear Your Eyes (2020) and All Above (2023), both on Editions Mego, and by 2025's installation-derived Tuning the Wind. Working across minimalism, ambient and rhythmically complex electronics, she has performed at Berghain, the Barbican, CTM Festival, Kraftwerk and MUTEK, and since 2016 runs the one-instrument-brief label One Instrument.
