G*Park
G Park is the musique concrète project of Marc Zeier (b. 1954, Jersey City, USA), who relocated to Switzerland in 1961 and has lived and worked in Zürich since, as a composer, installation and video artist, and plankton fisherman. A founding member of the Schimpfluch-Gruppe, he has been active under the G*Park name since the early 1980s, with a deliberately sparse output.
His compositions are built from field recordings — ice, wind, plankton, found objects — assembled into dense, enigmatic pieces. Early tape works gave way to Seismogramm (1990, Schimpfluch), Yack Park (1993) and Geopod (1995) on Zabriskie Point, with later releases including Reuters (2008) and the double CD Sub (2013).
